The 8th Ward is proud to endorse Judge Cateria McCabe for Common Pleas Court.

A proud Army veteran, Judge McCabe was originally appointed by Governor Wolf, and rated “Recommended” by the Philadelphia Bar. Judge McCabe has earned an excellent reputation as a judge, where she serves in the Family Court division where she hears Department of Human Services (DHS) cases regarding children who are abused, neglected and or truant.  Judge McCabe shares, “While many of these cases are heart wrenching, it has been a great honor to serve Philadelphians in this capacity.” Before serving on the bench, she served as the Director of Veterans, Kinship Care and Tenant Rights projects at SeniorLAW Center, a public interest law nonprofit that protects the legal rights of older Pennsylvanians.  She began her career in the City of Philadelphia Law Department, as an Assistant City Solicitor from 1991-1997.  Besides her work responsibilities, Judge McCabe has dedicated significant leadership to the Philadelphia Bar Association, where she participated on the Civil Gideon Task Force, the Municipal Court Committee and co-chaired the Family Law Section Diversity Committee. Judge McCabe brings a rich perspective to the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, thanks to career experiences in public interest law, civil practice, and government service.
