The 8th Ward Democratic Committee proudly endorses Lisa Deeley for City Commissioner. Commissioner Deeley was first sworn into office in 2016, was elected as Chairperson, and has been in the forefront of leading the fight to uphold fair and free elections in Philadelphia, especially during the extremely polarized 2020 and 2022 cycles. Chairperson Deeley led the Commissioners in successfully instituting mail-in ballot voting for Philadelphia, all during the pandemic. She stood strong in 2020 against MAGA death threats and bullying to protect the integrity and transparency of our election process to ensure that every vote was fairly counted. Commissioner Deeley continues to innovate our election technology and procedures, and dedicates herself to working tirelessly with people, organizations, and communities throughout Philadelphia to educate and register voters.
