Michael Untermeyer

FOR SHERIFF

Michael UNTERMEYER

The 8th Ward enthusiastically endorses Michael Untermeyer for
Sheriff. Leadership change is needed. Regrettably, Sheriff’s Office continues to disappoint, fails to meet its mission, and remains plagued by scandal, corruption, and mismanagement. Michael Untermeyer is passionate about turning the office around and restoring public confidence. With a criminal law background, financial investigation expertise and real estate knowledge, Michael is well-positioned to lead and reform the Sheriff’s Office. Michael served for 11 years in the Attorney General’s Office. He also served as Special Counsel for the Office of Inspector General where he conducted investigations of fraud, waste, abuse, and misconduct in executive agencies of the Commonwealth. He also served for 4 years as an Assistant District Attorney where he was one of the first attorneys assigned to the newly formed Domestic Violence Unit. He has experience with Mortgage Foreclosures and real estate matters through his service as a Judge Pro Tem in Philadelphia’s Mortgage Foreclosure Rescue Effort. An outspoken “good government” advocate, Michael has pledged to turn around the Sheriff’s office through his 15-point plan to restore integrity and competence. We are confident that Michael will begin to implement transformational changes, and we urge you to support him with your vote.
