JUDGE of the COURT OF COMMON PLEAS
Irina EHRLICH
**Rated RECOMMENDED by The Philadelphia Bar Association
The 8th Ward urges you to vote for Irina Ehrlich for Judge in the Common Pleas Court. An experienced trial attorney with almost 25 years of experience, Irina Ehrlich has fought for justice, fairness, and equity, donating thousands of hours of free legal assistance to the seniors and disabled individuals through her work with the Elder Justice Center.
If elected, Irina will bring more than excellent legal skills to the bench; she brings her experience as a political refugee from Ukraine. At the age of 21, Irina came to Philadelphia with her family. She completed her university education here, and went on to earn her JD from Temple Law. After graduating from law school, she worked in the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office for 13 years before opening her own Law office in 2015. Irina has specialized in criminal defense and also represents clients with immigration issues, including deportation. She has extensive experience in both civil and criminal litigation, and has experience both as a prosecutor and as a defense attorney. In addition, Ehrlich has taken on pro bono cases assisting indigent elderly clients in Orphans’ Court.
Fluent in both Russian and Ukrainian, Irina has an enormous appreciation for civil rights, due process, and the rule of law. She is committed to ensuring equal access to courts for all. She is endorsed by several Labor Unions. Her experience of coming from a totalitarian country has made her deeply appreciative of living in a democratic country with due process, rule of law, and basic human rights. Irina feels fortunate to be in this country, and we are confident that Philadelphia will be fortunate to have her on the bench.
