8th Ward Endorsed- Kia GHEE

JUDGE of the COURT OF COMMON PLEAS
Kia GHEE
**Rated RECOMMENDED by The Philadelphia Bar Association
The 8th Ward urges you to vote for Kia Ghee for Common Pleas Court Judge. Her work in public health and social services, as a Solicitor, and as Executive Director of Philadelphia’s Commission on Human Relations gives her a wide range of experience which make her an excellent judge. Until resigning to run for Judge in 2025, Kia Ghee served as Executive Director of the City of Philadelphia’s Commission on Human Relations, where she was responsible for enforcing laws designed to prevent discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodation. Prior to this job, she worked as legal counsel in the City Solicitor Office as Assistant City Solicitor and Deputy City Solicitor in the Labor and Employment Unit.
If elected, Kia would bring a refreshing and non-traditional approach to the law. Before becoming an attorney, Kia earned a masters in public health and spent 12 years working with nonprofit and community-based organizations, managing multimillion-dollar budgets and programs like Head Start and Early Head Start, providing equitable access to education, healthcare, and community resources. She also led teams of over 50 staff members and organized impactful community events, such as health and job fairs. Ms. Ghee has received many honors, is a frequent public speaker, and is active in her community, particularly with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and her church.
Kia’s wealth of experience, both inside the courtroom and out, and strong ties to our community, will ensure that all who appear in her Courtroom will be heard fairly and with due process.
